The onset of Obesity

1.

Obesity can occur at any age. Pregnancy is one of the common trigger factors.

2.

Juvenile onset obesity (i.e. obesity which starts in childhood) is much more difficult to change than adult onset obesity. Those who were overweight as children usually identify with a fat personality. Sometimes the thought of being thin is terrifying and this may contribute towards an ongoing battle with weight. This does not, however, stop a person wanting to become thin. (See why diets don't work).
